+- **False update badge** — `manifest.json` version was `1.7.12` while the app header showed `v1.7.13`, causing the server to report an older deployed version and triggering a spurious update notification.
+- **Kiosk settings gear disappeared** — Race condition where Kotlin's `onPageFinished` injects `#_kiosk_overlay` before JS runs; JS found the element already present and returned early without ever restoring the native gear button.
